Ettalong Beach

Getting here

Ettalong Beach is a 1hr 25min drive north of Sydney. You can also get the train to Woy Woy and connect by bus. For a scenic trip, take the 30min ferry ride from Palm Beach across the Hawkesbury River to Broken Bay and Brisbane Water.

The beaches of the Central Coast are stunning every day of the year. Southeast of Ettalong Beach, along Broken Bay, you will find more swathes of empty white sand beaches curving around the coastline. Day-trippers can connect the dots between Ocean Beach UminaUmina Beach and Pearl Beach.

For those who enjoy aquatic adventures, Ettalong Beach has excellent boating facilities: hire a small boat or kayak and cast a fishing line in on the tranquil waterways. The gentle swell at Ocean Beach Umina is ideal for young children learning to surf – enrol your little ones in the Central Coast Surf School

Adventurers with big appetites should stock up on goodies at the Ettalong Beach Markets, held every weekend. Grab coffee at The Lords of Pour, followed by brunch at The Box on the Water, which overlooks the expansive shoreline. Enjoy fresh baked pastries with a side serve of art at Re:Publik Café.

Find a pretty spot to picnic along Ettalong Beach foreshore. You will find the esplanade dotted with locals enjoying the proximity to BBQ facilities, a children’s playground and shared cycling and walking path. Don’t miss the annual Opera in the Arboretum at Pearl Beach, an open air festival held among lush native bushland.

Another fun thing to do in Ettalong Beach is cycle the length Warrah Trig loop, a 10km route through Brisbane Water National Park with spectacular views from Warrah lookout. The Patonga to Pearl Beach walking track is wonderful as well. The moderately challenging trail winds through towering grove of red gums.
